Okay, so she's been two for almost two months now, but I think we've established that I'm not always a punctual blogger. Even though I am two months late, I wanted to document what my dear, first-born is like at the age of two.
Physical Stats:
Height: 35" which is in the 75th percentile
Weight: 27 lb. which is in the 50th percentile
Favorites:
*Playing outside...loves the water, her sandbox, playgrounds (especially the slide).
*Sesame Street is her favorite tv show.
*Finding Nemo and Ice Age are her favorite movies.
*Favorite foods are fruits (especially blueberries), beans, cheese, rice, pasta. She still is not a big meat eater.
*She loves to put things in containers. One of her favorite toys is a bowl of decorative rocks I have in our living room. She will spend time putting them into her play pots and pans, her purse, the trunk of her toy car.
*She loves puzzles and books.
*She is quite the scavenger. She will collect sticks and rocks when she is outside and is always heartbroken when I don't let her bring them inside.
*She loves to talk on the phone and usually insists on saying "hi" to whomever we might be talking to on the phone. That's just fine when we're talking to Grandma, but is tricky when it's a telemarketer.
In Her Words:
"Hold you" when she wants to be picked up
"There is it" for there it is
"blueys" blueberries...it's usually connected to the word, more
"Bankie go?" where is her blanket
"Looket" look at
"I don't want to" we are trying to add "but I will anyway" to this favorite phrase of hers
We started potty training and she is doing pretty well. She has an occasional accident when she is distracted, but she's getting the hang of it.
Soon after turning two, Addison really started testing her boundaries. I don't know that I'd call it the "terrible twos" but she certainly has been exerting her will! There are times I miss my compliant one year-old, but I keep telling myself that she's going to be a good leader.
She recognizes some shapes and letters, but everything is "yellow".
Addison is a blessing and a joy. She is growing and learning so quickly. We pray that we will be good parents and raise her well.
