Jake {2 1/2 Years Old}

A post on this guy is long overdue.  He has grown and changed so much in the last few months.  He is no longer a baby...he is ALL little boy.

Jake, at 2 1/2, you are exuberant.  When you are excited about something...your little body just can't contain it.  When you are upset about something, it's like your world has collapsed (thankfully you are still pretty easily redirected...a good thing about your short attention span!).  

You have a delightful personality.  Carrying on a conversation with you, is a joy.   You often make my heart smile by the things you say.  You're language skills are exploding.  You are using new words all the time and are very happy to continually repeat what you say until the person listening understands what you're saying :)  You have substituted a lot of your "baby words" for the real thing.  Your "kiki" is now your "blanket."  You still call our dog, Annie, "Ni Ni," though....which always makes me smile.

You are always on the move...your daddy and I often joke that we're not sure that you know how to walk, because you always run!  

You love to read books together.  We signed you and your sister up for the library's summer reading program, and you met your goal before your sister.  Your favorite books right now are, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Mine-o-saurus. 

You know your colors, can count to 13, and recognize a handful of letters.

You love to be a helper and "work."  You like to help unload the dishwasher and put your laundry away (somehow I have a feeling that will change as you get older :))

If something is broken, you will try to fix it.  Your favorite place to be is in the garage with your daddy.

  

You absolutely love your sister.  You want to be wherever she is.  The other night I went to check on you before going to bed and you weren't in your bed.  This is where I found you :)

Jake, you are a sweet, fun-loving, energetic little boy!
