Becoming a fish...

This summer brought a huge change in Addison's relationship with water.  She has always been cautious in the water and downright terrified of deep water.  This summer she discovered she loves the water.  We have spent a lot of time at the pool and swimming in lakes.

A few weeks ago, Addison did a 2-week session of swimming lessons at our Y.  She did really well and made a lot of progress.  At the beginning of the session, she was still a bit timid in the deep water and wouldn't go down the big slide by herself.   By the end of the week, she could swim short distances and loved going down the slide by herself.

The last day of lessons, they learned about boat safety.  Addison thought it was great fun.  They floated around in the boat and had to practice jumping off and swimming to "shore".   These pictures aren't the greatest...the lighting was awful in the pool area.

Proud to show off her swimming skills!

A bonus...her two best friends were in her class!
