A couple of weeks ago Addison and I flew to Chicago to visit my mom and stepdad. Kyle had to go to San Antonio for a dental conference. I was certainly a little nervous about the flight. Mostly because I was on my own and Addison doesn't always take to new experiences very well. Our flight to Chicago was an evening flight. After being delayed in the airport for 30 minutes, we were delayed another 30 minutes on the runway. It was a full flight, but luckily we were seated next to a gentleman who liked kids. He did a fine job of entertaining Addison on the ride up. That, paired with a few yummy snacks, made for a successful first flight.
While in the Chicago area, we had a great time. We went to a pumpkin patch/apple orchard, made a visit to a great Children's Museum in Naperville, and went to the Brookfield Zoo. Below are some pictures of our time in Chicago:

At the pumpkin patch, there was a giant silo-like (sorry...I'm not a farm girl) building of corn. Addison had fun digging around in it.

It was great to have some one-on-one bonding time.
