What I Want to Remember

Halloween this year was great fun. I've blogged about Addison's costume and the fun family time we had. But what I want to remember about this Halloween, is how my girl's emerging personality responded to trick-or-treating.

We were making our way down the block and getting into a good rhythm: ring the door bell...say "trick-or-treat"...hold up the bucket...say "thank you"...head to the next house. Addison was having a blast! After about 5 houses, Addison looked in her bucket and said, "I think I have enough candy now, we can go home." She wasn't tired, she wasn't scared, she wasn't cold...she just realized she had a reasonable amount of candy and was done. She's so sensible! Kyle and I prodded her around the block to get just a bit more. We were done trick-or-treating at 7:30.

When we got home, Addison wanted to help pass out candy to the kids coming to our door. She was just as excited (maybe more) to hand out the candy as she was getting her own candy. After one group of kids left our porch, Addison said, "I love feeding the kids."

I love that girl!
