Tea Party Birthday

Addison had been wanting a tea party birthday ever since reading the Fancy Nancy Tea Party book she got for Christmas.  I thought she would change her mind (as she often does), but she stuck with it.  So, last week we had a few of her good friends over for a tea party.

Making candy necklaces.

Sitting down to tea.  The menu included: egg salad sandwiches (Addison's  choice), strawberry cream cheese sandwiches, slushy fruit cups, ants on a log (from the Fancy Nancy book), and cheese and crackers.

It was fun to watch the girls interact...using their best manners, of course :)

We served hot (warm) tea and raspberry lemonade.  I was surprised that the tea was a hit...of course there was plenty of milk and sugar in it!

A table of the sweetest girls!

After tea, Addison opened her gifts.  The girls oohed and aahed  over the Rapunzel doll.

I oohed and aahed over the Ariel cd :)

Yummy cupcakes for dessert.

Fun favor bags...thank you pinterest!

My mom's pretty flower arranging.

Addison and I found this table runner at an estate sale for $1 and thought it would be pretty for the tea party...the stitching was unfinished.  My mom finished it up for us...now it's prettying up Addison's dresser.
It was such a fun day.  I had great help from my mom...thanks, mom!
I can't believe my girl is going to be 5!
