I am not crafty. I want to be crafty, but I haven't invested the time it takes to develop those skills. I read blogs written by crafty people...I have friends who are crafty. I want to be like them :) It was one of my crafty friends who inspired me to try this burlap wreath. She got the idea from
HERE. She made one and it was so adorable, very versatile, and seemed easy enough. So I gave it a try.

Supplies: a wreath (any kind/size will do, mine was a straw wreath from Hobby Lobby...it was $3.99...I kept the plastic on it otherwise it would have been a mess), burlap (I bought 2 yards and used almost all of it)

First you cut strips of burlap. To cut down on fraying, snip into the burlap, pull a strand out, and cut along the line.

My strips were around an inch and a half wide and 24 inches long. The size of your wreath will dictate how long your strips should be.

Start tying your strips around the wreath using double knots...fluff and adjust until you like how it looks.

Here is my completed wreath...with a sprig of red berries.

I settled on the skis.
Overall, I was happy with how my wreath turned out. It took me about an hour and half to do it. I think it will be easy to make this work for different seasons! Look out, I've got a crafting-bug now!!

How you described yourself is exactly where I am at right now with crafting. I'm not creative but I'm starting to get a crafting "itch" hehe. LOVE the burlap wreath, I saw it on a blog and thought about trying it out. Thanks for posting!
Awesome! Yeah, I just buy things or have Pat make something! My craftiness began and ended at learning the basics of knitting. Haven't gotten beyond the basics!
