Ready to Ride!

Addison was given a bike for her third birthday. As she approaches her 4th birthday, she's not done much more than sit on the bike. Up until today, the bike's white tire tread was still pretty white. See, my girl is cautious with fearful tendencies. If there is a chance she might fall or fail, she's not interested in trying. I'm starting to see her break out of that fearful shell. Today was a step in that direction.

We were about to go inside after playing in the backyard, when Addison asked if we could practice her bike. I said yes, expecting her to just want to sit on it. But, she surprised me by pedaling across the patio. One ride and she was hooked. She rode to the park and back after her patio ride. Then this evening, she wanted to show her daddy what she could do.

I'm so proud of her! Now to find a bigger bike...she's pretty much outgrown this one.

Hopefully Jake will be an early bike-rider so this bike wasn't a complete waste of money...do you think he'll mind the princess bike with pink streamers??

Way to go Addison!!!!! And no I don't think Jake will mind...Lincoln jumps at the chance to take Lily's princess bike for a spin around the slab (matching helmet and all) And I wouldn't be surprised if your little guy won't skip the training wheel stage. They will probably just slow him down :))
