Celebrating 30 Years

It started out just like a normal family weekend...

Lots of good conversation

The kids dyed Easter eggs

Pausing for a picture

Playing on Papa's wood splitter
(which, apparently, isn't as dangerous as it sounds)

Swinging on the tire swing

An impromptu how-many-cheeseballs-can-you-fit-in-your-mouth contest
(guys are so weird)

Lots of yummy food...including this delectable delight: strawberries and pie crust

Then, Sunday morning, we said our "goodbyes" and "loaded up" and "headed home" before church. Mike and Virginia didn't know that we were all fibbing and surprised them at church as a part of a 30 Years of Service celebration that their church planned for them.

The celebration was great: testimonies of how people have been impacted by Mike and Virginia's ministry, a video montage of pictures from the past 30 years (let me tell you, the early 90's were not a good time for my husband...funny stuff), and lunch with cake and punch afterward. It was priceless to see Mike and Virginia so surprised!

Here are a few pictures from that day.

Mike and Virginia, thank you for being such a great example to all of us. You live your life serving others for God's glory, and it's amazing to see how He uses you! We love you!

What a great way to surprise them! And by the way, I love Addison's church hat!
