Happy 60th Dad!

Earlier this month we had a belated family celebration for my dad's 60th birthday. He turned 60 in April. April is a busy month for church-workers with Easter and all...my family is chocked full of church-workers, so we put off a whole-family celebration for a slower time...summer :)

This is my dad...isn't he handsome?!? This picture is from Jake's birthday party. For some reason, I didn't get any pictures of my dad during his party. Silly me.

We had a great day. The goal was to spend time together and play. It was laid back...kinda like my dad (hee hee). Those of you who know my dad, know that laid back isn't the first word that comes to mind to describe him, but the guy does like to play. That, in fact, is what makes him a great grandpa. He spent a large part of his day fishing with his grandkids and teaching them how to use the paddle boat.

Before the kids broke out the fishing poles and worms, we hit the nearby pool. It was a hot day, so the pool felt great!

Charlotte and Addison loved this frog slide. They went down it no fewer than a hundred times.

Caleb with his goggles on.

Brennan on the lily pads.

After the pool, we headed back to my dad's house. It didn't take the boys long to get their first catch.

Brennan, proud of his catch!

The four big boys on the paddle boat...by themselves (insert a collective *gulp* from all the moms). They thought they were hot stuff in that boat. Their Papa was pretty proud of them!

Charlotte and Addison took their turn with Erin and I. It didn't last too long...Addison was not a fan of the spiders that kept crawling toward her. Sweet Charlotte kept saying, "It's okay, Addison, they don't bite."

The boys waiting for their next turn.

Charlotte and Aiden playing with the bait.

All the grandchildren. These pictures always crack me up. There is always at least one child unhappy...in this one, it's mine.

Dad, I'm so thankful for you! You are the rock in our family. We can always count on your love and support. Thank you for being there for all of us. We love you!
