Like much of the midwest, we received a huge batch of snow this winter...all at once. It came in a couple rounds within a few days of each other. It was the most snow I'd seen in a long time and certainly the most snow the kids had ever seen. School was cancelled 4 days in a row...throw in a weekend and we ended up being off for 6 days. Though the break was nice, we were all ready for some normal by the end of it.

All bundled up.

Kyle shoveled our driveway at least 5 times this winter...that's a lot for us!

Snow up passed his knees!

Picture-perfect Jake.

On one of the snow days, the kids were goofing off in Addison's bedroom with an exercise resistance band. They wedged it in the door jamb, then Addison pulled hard. The band flew out of the door and hit Jake in the forehead. So, we ended up at the doctor's office and Jake ended up with 3 stitches.

Pre-stitches...he was not this happy right after it happened.
On the morning of the 3rd snow day, I told Addison she wasn't going to school again and she burst into tears. (Girlfriend thrives on routine!) So, we decided to have school at home. The kids loved the activities I pulled together and I enjoyed doing it.

Hard at work.
On one of the last snow days, we decided to give sledding a try. We pulled out our old metal/wood sled and headed to the nearest hill only to find out our sled doesn't work. Fortunately, a nice girl let us borrow her plastic sled for a few minutes. The kids loved it. We decided to head to the store to grab a couple of plastic sleds. Turns out, there wasn't a sled left in the city. We were all super bummed.

The sled works great being pulled :)
