Michigan {Beach}

This is the first of a series of posts about our Michigan vacation. Warning: These posts will be laden with photos.

We just returned from a family vacation that has been years in the making. It's a long story, but my step-sister, Marie, declared as a young teenager that she wanted the whole family to go to Disney World (Land??) in 2010. Well, it wasn't Disney, but what we did was probably a whole lot better...we went to South Haven, Michigan. The whole family (minus my 2 siblings and their families and my step-sister's husband...sniff...sniff) met in Michigan for 7 days at a beach house. We all went in to the experience saying, "This will either be great fun or just a very....interesting experience." Well, it was great fun.

This first post is dedicated to the beach. The beach was a 30 second walk from our house. The sand was powdery...the waves were ocean-like...and the water was crystal clear. It. was. perfect. This was Addison's first beach experience and she loved it. She was afraid of the waves, but would've played in the sand all day. Jake taught me that 6 month olds and beaches don't go well together. He was too mobile and too interested in sticking sand in his mouth, so he had limited beach time.

Now for some pictures (pardon the randomness of the pictures...blogger won't let me move them around and I'm not sure why...hmmmmm):

Charlotte and Addison running to see the water.

One of Jake's beach experiences...nap in the wagon.

We love the beach!!

Okay, so maybe Jake isn't included in the above statement.

This sun tent could not contain this kid.

Testing out the water.

Mermaid...she called herself "Ariel"

Beachcombers

Playing in the sand.
