It's been hot this summer...miserably so. We hadn't been to the zoo since early June, so this week when the temperatures cooled, we made a morning of it. The animals were clearly relieved for the cooler weather too. They were up close and active!
This giraffe (we learned her name is Twigga) learned how to get down in the ditch between the giraffe area and the fence. We could have patted her on the head.
Addison enjoyed watching her eat.
The tigers were snoozing up close...they woke up occasionally and looked us over.

The gorillas were all awake and playing.

Speaking of awake...this little guy didn't nap in the stroller like he was supposed to!
The mama lion needed a drink.
We caught the elephant training inside.
Every time I've been to the zoo, the rhinos are either laying down or just standing around. Not this day...they were chasing each other...splashing in their mud pit. It was crazy!
